I know I can frost seed clover but would it make any sence at all to broadcast seed in sub freezing temps. Been clearing and burning brush in a new pasture I'm makin . I see alot of bare dirt anyone think I'd benifit by seeding now or would I be just feedn the birds :???:

As long as you're having freeze/thaw days and nights go ahead and spread it. It actaully works best if there is some moisture in the ground when you do it. The heaving is what helps to walk the seed into the soil. Inoculate it but don;t use that pretty pink (or any other bright color) inoculant/fertilizer coated seed.

well thats good thanks Dun it could be a cure for cabin fever. Every thing I was working on tuned to slop with daytime temps in the high 40's been a wierd winter here .We're gonna get a foot of snow tonite 1'st real snow this year.Usually snow is butt high to a ten foot indian. So I'll have my moisture thanks again.
