Guess when (pics)

My first thoughts from the pictures is he looks a little bumbly. If he is and that's all the bigger he is I'ld sure suspect he had company in there

maybe the heifer's due date is 7/24.

anyhoo, i guess its time for me to start selecting AGAINST milk. lol.

Well...update. I gave her oxytocin as that was easier, waited 2 hours, there wasn't anything coming, so I decided to try palpating her to see what I could feel. Wasn't sure so I begged boss to come down and check her for me. :P He says she's done and she's cleaned. So I guess that's all there is to show - one itty bitty bull calf. :?

Thanks for the congrats :)

I know boss usually has a waiting list for bull calves, and asked if he'd sell this guy for me. I don't really want him, and I just brought 311 home AND four more calves (all angus/holstein cross) -- so he needs to go.

On the other hand, he finally nursed. I'd been milking the cow and bottle feeding the calf as he didn't seem intelligent enough or motivated enough to figure it out on his own. I gave him half a bottle of colostrum this afternoon and then left him...get a little food in their bellies and they'll often go looking for more. Yep! Also took 162 to the dairy for a brief spell, just to get her milked out. Had to borrow the four wheeler to lead her down and back - her ground manners leave much to be desired and I didn't dare lead her on foot. LOL.
