Herefords have improved so much here in Australia in the past five years. They were good then they went through a stage where they had too much import blood in them. Now the resilient and clever Australian cattle breeders have found the right mix of bloodlines. they have returned the doing ability to Australian Herefords. The faddish type cattle have gone. They will in time overcome the faddish Angus cattle.
Here are some great sale results.
Top price. $62,500
second top $48,000
third top $35,000
fourth $30,000.
Overall 82 bulls sold for an average $8,671. The average increased on last years sale by $2,465.
There were quality good coloured and well pigmented bulls. They sold to three eastern states and into some well known stud herds and a few up and coming ones.Three of the higher priced bulls came to our region, which augers well for the future when we need to further our sire base.
