I have no plans to use him at this point, but I've admired his photos, especially the introductory yearling shot. IMO, one of the best balanced, well- shaped young bulls I've seen. Just for fun, what do you think of him? Did anyone see him in Denver?

He's pretty nice. He has unbelievable numbers. The AHA numbers are higher than the ones of Perks. Have you seen any of his calves.

Anyone have his photo to post?

You can go to http://www.perksranch.com, click sires and you can see a pic. It's one of the original pics though. Click more information at the bottom of his info page and it will take you to Hereford.org, which will have an updated pic and epds.

I like the Rambo bull, and I think this year has proved that he may have been worth the investment. I have not face to face seen any of his calves, but have seen pictures, videos, sale results, etc.

This is a neat picture. How many bulls do you actually get an unprofessional picture of these days? Anways, not the greatest picture to analyze him, but interest. From the Four L site (too big to post):

I would still say he is unproven. Only 148 calves registered, but his REA EPD looks good if it holds. I think there is a picture of his dam in the 2007 AI Book.

I saw Rambo in March in stud up at Airdrie. I went to look at a bull I own us rights on and got to see him. I ended up buying semen on a different Hereford bull that was there at the same time. Got to see the two bulls tied side by side. The bull I bought semen on didn't have the epd's - but had a better top and more muscle in him and more my kind of pedigree.

By the way Grant stole the name Rambo - the real rambo spent 11 years breeding cows here.

I've seen pics of his calves---Largents had a few. They looked pretty good in the pics, and I thought the bulls looked better than the heifers.

The pic I was thinking of is in the Hereford Junior Calender, and the one they put in the Hereford World. It shows him in an angle shot from the front, and shows how wide he stands, and his thickness. His more mature pics in HW are a little blurry looking, but he is very long and deep, and looks to be thick.

That pic is on AHA's website. Go to http://www.hereford.com and click EPD Inquiry at the bottom left. Enter his name on the next screen and click search. Then click his name on the results page. Or you can click the more info link at the bottom of the Perks page.

http://www.hereford.org is the AHA site. hereford.com is Colyer's site (I'm sure they wouldn't mind a little extra site traffic  ).

I saw Rambo today in Fort Worth. He's darn impressive!

Hey George, I think that's an understatement. He's huge, massive, gigantic, awesome, thick, did I mention huge. He's just a MOOSE!

I hope no one is planning to use him right now - no semen being released. They auctioned 3 straws and 1 cert - $285 a straw to H2.

Probably was an understatement. As an impressive individual, he'd rank right up there with Pure Gold and Online in my book. It looks like they are getting some nice calves from him, so he may ultimately prove to be as good a breeding bull as well.

Just got back from Ft. Worth tonight. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures over the next few days, particularly of Rambo and a few others. Rambo won his class and Sr. champ. You weren't kidding...that is one massive bull. Though he's a little too "framey" for my liking, he is extremely correct and carries it very well. His progeny showed well today also.

Who were the class winners, division, overall champions for the show? I tried to get it to come up last night, but my computer apparently thought it was my bedtime and refused to bring up the page.

At the office, so I don't have my notes. Off the top of my head..

H Easy Deal (Grand Polled Bull)
LCC Legacy (Res Polled Bull)

Star Valedictorian (Grand Polled Heifer)
RW Mindy (Res Polled Heifer)

C Reno (Grand Horned Bull)
H Top Hat (Res Horned Bull)

Can't remember the horned heifers, though I believe Colyer had the reserve heifer. I was in agreement with the judges most of the day. All of the above were outstanding for sure. As mentioned before, Rambo was very impressively put together and moved very easily for a bull that size. I was also very impressed with B&C Outlook Express.
