Gearing up for show season

Help Support CattleToday:

The Red Angus? I didn't have to do steers, but I guess he was probably the most appealing. That Santa steer was pretty good. The South Devon was no good at all. I've never seen such uneven fat cover- certainly not in a South Devon.
I'm going to start a new thread with some pics.

looking forward to the pics

She placed that fat red steer first. And like I say I'm pretty sure the Simbrah was first in her placings. I was so nervous in speaking. No matter how many times I actually judge classes junior judging scares me half to death.

hee hee, I LOVE junior judging!

A comment about the South Devon. From experience a good South Devon steer needs to be crossed with something else. I have found pures don't do as well as those with about 1/2 to 3/4 Hereford. Not that fussed on an Angus infusion. Seen some great Limousin/South Devon steers at Brisbane. Won the on the hoof section a few times.
