Yep, that is exactly what the dealer said . He unfortunately did not have a bed on order that he could tie it into.

Shove some scrap 2x4's in the holes and make your own until he has something on order!

I have a aluminum cm sk bed. I just made my own out of 2x4 might be a little red for a nice bed. Been that way for 2 years seems to work.

Dang on the freight!, I was all hoping to get a set, my new rig has a cm on it also. Has anyone sprayed a bed to keep stuff from sliding?

I had the Hillsboro on the truck referenced above sprayed with Line-X, mainly to try and muffle some of the noise coming from the exhaust on that truck (cummins engine) and it didn't help at all. It did work good for preventing stuff from sliding around, but it's a lot easier to damage than one might imagine. I ripped a few chunks out of it backing into trailers that weren't raised up quite high enough, and scraped a fair bit of it off setting a 10' snow blade on the truck for transport.

The truck I replaced that one with has a Hydrabed on it, which is also diamond plate. I don't have any intentions of spraying it with Line-X at this point.

I have it on good authority that a bed mat is what you want. Thats what I plan to do as soon as i can take a 4hr trip north to pick it up. I put a tool box in the center next to the headache rack last night which completely restricts my view of the ball.
There will be lots of getting in and out until i learn the marker points .

I cut the 2x4 stakes yesterday and going to pick up some 2x6's today , I figure I will go ahead and build them out of wood and when I get metal ones built of ordered I can just add more 2x6's to make stake bodies iffn I need to haul without a trailer or loads of loose materiel .

that's what I'm gonna do because i cant see the bed now because of tool box.

You might as well just put one of those chartreuse tennis balls on your antenna so you can find your truck. They make a wireless camera that some folks use with good results.

Yep, I just ram the toolbox and then pull up about 6 inches. :lol:

What's the deal with the 4x6 decals? Is the truck rear wheel drive or 4wd?

Its 4wd (6 wheels) , the decals were on it when I bought it , Havent pulled them off yet

If it's not too late, I'd add a handle and a step here.. it makes it SOOO much easier to get onto the bed of the truck!.. My deck was a lot lower so I didn't need the step, I could use the running board, but the handle was really handy.

That is next project. I'm going to make a 2 step slide out ladder , like is on 18wheel flatbed.

I personally don't like slide-out stuff or any other stuff that moves.. always rattles on my roads and gets clogged up with gravel and mud. If I didn't have the running boards I have I'd just make a solid step

Yeah, I like those wheels, looks like the same get stuck every where tires that I have though, can't wait to wear those suckers out.
