My wife and I were watching the cows take a dip yesterday and she spotted these sun perch and maybe bluegill jumping WAY out of the water to get the flies on the sides of the cattle. That's a new one for me, never noticed that before.

Now I've seen the chickens jump clean up to the sides of standing cattle, and usually hang out around them when they are laying around for a snack, but this was a first. How those fish can even see that far through pond water is beyond me.

Reminds me when I am bush-hogging around the ponds... somehow the fish know it and lie in wait for the bugs to make their way to the water... it's pretty fun to watch, especially when the grasshoppers are out in force.

I guess it would work if ya got cows that go in the pond. Mine don't except for a newborn that drowned last March.
