Finally some fun football

Help Support CattleToday:

Besides the halftime show the Superbowl won't be worth watching. I could care less about the Bengals and the Rams, I can't stand SF, so I guess I'll be rooting for KC.

I like KC because I love watching Mahomes play, the kid is just fascinating to watch. That being said I was heartbroken for Buffalo. Who throws a game winning TD with 13 sec. left and lose the game? Those boys played their hearts out.

Theyve managed to even screw up the half time show, nowhere near worth watching any more, along w the crappy commercials. I might play some squares if my friends write in my name again, other than that, nope.

KC got some home cooking. Now way you can run two long passing plays with 13 seconds and have 3 seconds left. If a player runs a 4.4 in a straight line it still does not add up. Also with the meltdown the Rams had in the 4th quarter and almost gave it away San Fran next week will have their number. The Pack needs a special teams upgrade as their errors cost them the game against the 40 Niners. Also if the Titans had got the same home cooking as KC the outcome would have been different against the Bengals.

I would say the big winner were the Gambling Casinos.

Dec 29 1975 NFC Championship game
Vikings 12-2 3rd in NFL offense 3rd defense vs Dallas 10-4 off 8th def 9th in 1975
Point spread Vikings by 7.5 pts and 7-4 odds to win

Vikings down 10-7 with last chance to win the game on the line.
Fran Tarkenton led a 11 play 70 yard TD drive and at that point in time one of the most well executed comeback drives in the history of the NFL.
Fat Freddy Cox ex/pt (previous 45 yd fg attempt was short) 14-10
Tarkenton's heroics would soon be forgotten by nearly everyone.

Long story short... Roger Staubach's Hail Mary pass Cowboys win 17-14
Dallas went on to lose Super Bowl 21-17 to Pittsburgh 12-2 off 5th def 2nd

* sad footnote to the story
Rev. Dallas Tarkenton 63 (Fran's dad) watching the game on TV suffered a heart attack and died at his home in Georgia.

Remember it well. Those Vikings never could win the big ones. I was a Dallas fan way back then and my friend was a Vikings fan. He would take it hard.

Hopefully they change the overtime rules. It's a shame Allen and Buffalo didn't get a chance to score in overtime. I like the college overtime rules a lot better where each time gets at least one chance. That was a heck of a game.

OT should be a full 15 min. If tied after that then 5 field goal attempts per team, each 5 yards farther out.

Buffalo had 60 mins/4qtrs to try to beat 'em....Should have done it then.

First time in 12 years neither Brady or Rodgers will be playing next weekend in the championship games. A refreshing change.

This weekend's games were absolutely awesome. Even if you weren't fans of any of those teams, those games were amazing and fun to watch. My only complaint is the NFL has to change its overtime rules. To basically let a coin toss decide the winner is ridiculous.

They thought they took a step in that direction when they changed the rules so you couldn't win in OT by merely kicking a field goal. I guess they need to tweak it a bit more.
