Planted about 16 acres of SS Friday and Saturday, Going to fertilize next week. What should I use? Don't have a soil sample for this field so what "should" work best?

No way to say on your p & k. Someone who knows your area may give you a guess. That's what it will be. We use 30-10-0 at planting at around 200 - 250 pounds. Figuring nitrogen at 1 pound per expected day of growth.

I add 80 pounds of N after each cutting . Each ton removes 40 pounds of N from the soil.
When I send soil samples to the local Ag. college and I am forecasting SS, the answer comes back 3-1-2 NPK and #/Ac. determined by how much yield you are expecting. To prevent nitrate problems and not knowing how much rain I will get to get that "food" to produce plant growth, I keep fertilizer on the lean side.
