The calves are starting to drop left and right. Haven't lost one yet this fall.

Its been a good year here. Plenty of rain anyway. Summer was hot but not bone dry. Plenty of hay for the winter and green pastures now. These calves should get a good boost for the next couple of months before the first frost hits. Wheat is coming on in the places I planted it. Late winter I will move the herd through the wheat patches. Should have quite a few year old steers to market come spring. I might throw in some light weights if the market is as good as they say it will be.

My fall calvers, I only have 12, aren't watched very good. Thought I had 8, looked yesterday and I guess I had 10. Just too busy for the fall calvers, gonna' pay for it sometime, I'm sure.
We had a lot of rain this year too, people are still cutting hay. A neighbor put down 120 acres the last few days. Never saw hay cut the first of Oct. around here before. People are combining corn and beans, its that late. All the rain, the cuttings look good. gs
