I had down as being bred 10/9/07...I noticed she had dried blood on her tail. Couid this be from heat cycle, aborted calf or possibly stool related. Thanks in advance.

Have you seen her in heat since and was she preg checked?

Usually browny mucus is commom in early pregnacy. So if she was confirmed bred and has not been in heat she should be OK.

No, she wa not preg checked and I haven't seen her bullin' sicne. However, I'm not able to spend much time around them.

Is dried blood a sign of heat?? Thanks in advance...

No not a sign of heat but maybe a result.

Is she by herself or with other cattle? If with other cattle you can probably see marks on her hind quarter from cows riding her and that will tell you if she has had a heat.

If you are worried the only way to find out is preg checking. There are blood tests also that you can do that are cheaper than getting the vet out.I am not familiar with that one as we always preg check.
