Do you 'drag' to 'teach' walking?

Help Support CattleToday:

Lots of good comments above.
The key........NEVER DRAG!
We have used a 6' long bar attached to the 3-point hitch on a tractor. Drive the tractor at a normal walking pace for the animal. We drive about 30-40 yards, stop, then start again (simulating what you would do in a show ring). At first the heifers would hesitate a little, but they quickly learn to walk without fighting.
PS - Don't use a 4-wheeler......a 500-600 pound animal can easily flip it over and then you've got a "train wreck". Been there, Done that!
