With Herefords that is pretty much it. Some Horned breeeders will claim better carcass, better muscle or better health because of being horned. The Red and black Angus in the US split years ago, they ahve both become destinct breeds but with many of the same attributes. Breeding one to the other will give you a little heterosis(sort of), but no more then a total outcross from any given blood lines (my opinion). In Canada, both are in the same registeries so there may be less of a difference between them there.
