Does any body know how much fiber is in cotten motes?
Can cattle eat this free choice?
Additional information on motes would be great!
Thanks

Below is an ad from Livestock Weekly for motes. I suggest you call them for nutritional info. They have been selling motes for feed for many years

M O T E S Excellent for cattle, sheep or goats. 12% protein. Bulk or baled, delivery. Also, big bale alfalfa cow hay. Call me for all your feed needs ? hay, hulls, cottonseed, ground burrs, etc. Brooks Gray Lone Star Commodities 806/798-8900 806/789-4822

I don't have any first hand info on feeding motes, but understand they can substitute for fair quality hay. Can be self fed. IMO-Probably would need a little protein supplement for dry cows. For cows with calves, would also need a little extra energy & protein. Thin cows would need even more supplement.

Would sure like to hear from someone who has used motes for feed.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Good luck & best wishes.

Jame1 put out some protien tubs and feed it free choice. It sometimes takes the cow's alittle time to get used to it,but once they do they'll eat it just fine. I get along better with feeding Motes, and putting tubs out than feeding straight cotten seed.
