$765.54 per cow is what it cost here last year. But the cows also pay for all the deer expenses.

What does it cost to keep a deer ?

I have no real way of knowing the true cost of a deer. I ground 10 tons of corn for cattle feed last year, but I ended up feeding close to 21 tons of corn last year. I planted 200 bushels of oats, ryegrass and clover last year and usually see deer eating in the fields everyday.
The deer are definitely benefiting from the cows.

Cows can be very profitable as row crop residue recyclers. A current problem for most areas is that there is not a profit in row crop.

I can vouch for that being the case in SWMO. Row crop isn't paying many bills these days, hard to get excited about planting a crop where we need record yields to make any profit.
