I searched and found many threads and links to pages with designs for working facilites. What I have not found is much info on spacing for the fences.

I am building everything with 2 3/8 oilfield pipe. In the chute I have the vertical posts spaced 6' and they are 8' in the corral. I ran the top pipe 5'6". For the corral I was thinking three horizontal pipes with a 50" cattle panel welded to it. One pipe at bottom, about 16" off ground, one in middle, and one at top. Good plan?

For the chute I can't really afford metal for solid sides ( I already had the pipe I am using), and I don't really want to use plywood that will rote every few years so I am thinking just pipe sides. Would 1' spacing work ok?

In the chute you will need a couple of 2X6's between for baby calves.( 1 between each of the lower 2 rails.)
By the way, you may want to get familiar with your local scrap yard. I buy factory seconds for $.20 a lb. For example a 4x10 sheet of 16g would be $20.00.
