My grandson asked me a question I've never been asked & I can't say if I've ever thought about it. When cows drink chlorinated water does it kill bacteria and enzymes in the rumen?

It depends on the chlorine concentration, but most municipal drinking water isn't going to be that strongly chlorinated. It's getting diluted in the rumen, so whatever antimicrobial power it had is gone pretty quickly.

Always wondered about the mineral content in our municipal water. Probably not enough to stop buying mineral unfortunately. Lol.
