Do any of you winter your cowherd, solely, on unharvested standing corn stalks? Do you have larger BWs? Whats your thoughts? Thanks

Just for the first month and a half of winter. No noticeable change in BW.

I graze on it every winter. I would not do it solely if you calve early spring. Not enough food value. Snow can be an issue. The stalks also degrade as the winter passes. You get past the first couple of months...really it is nothing more than filler. I do wish I could find more to run my cows on. Feed them some hay when it gets really cold or snow get's too deep.
