Cattle markets and the future

I was wondering where you all get your information as to where you think the cattle market is heading, short and long term. I was at the feed store today and this topic came up. I really think that most of them were just spewing their predictions based on very local trends. Maybe they are right, maybe wrong. What do you look for, and where, to get an educated prediction?
