cattle census

I don't spend a lot of time on it, just give a good ballpark estimate, I think that is all they are looking for anyway. Maybe I should be a little more paranoid, but I doubt that anyone has time to compare census answers against tax records. If the Ag. Dept. was working with the IRS, they really wouldn't need to ask about financial information. But I suppose if enough people don't fill out the forms that will be the next step.

The USDA sends this census out every fifth year, if you folks don't mind me asking who is the agency sending the others to you ?

I thought I had done them before, every so many years.

fitz

I seem to get one every few years, never answer the thing...After a while they start calling, but that answering machine does a fine job of filtering em out.

I got one in 2007 (I think it was) got another Jan 2012, and another this January. Just figured they had begun doing it every year now.

we had a property in the home country, and the county there was pestering us for taxes on it, and asking us a ton of personal financial questions... the taxes on the property come to about $8/year, perhaps if we were millionaires, it would be $20... so we took a photocopy of one, and we send it in every year, we grossly inflate our worth, since it doesn't matter, and then deliberately send it back overseas by BOAT... I'm sure it costs them more than they gain

have not filled it out and will not fill it out, they can go pound salt, it's none of the governments darn business, besides I consider information about my business commercially confidential, to be used by me for my (and my customers) benefit. The govt isn't my customer!

When USDA decreases it's work force because it believes the forthcoming cattle herd is smaller, then it will be your business and of course mine as well.
