I've got a dog that you need. :o

Forget the dog you need a box of 22 long rifles.

And THAT's what I was thinkin'.

I wouldn't mind a cat or two around the barns. We used to have a few but they disappeared with no help from me. Our renter has a bunch (she claims they keep away snakes) and I think I may have to set the live trap and thin out a few (don't tell her, she'll think it's the coyotes again).

We used to live on an island in the middle of the Columbia river. Don't know the size of the island but if you drove around it all the way it was 21 miles. There was an esitimated 10,000 feral cats on the Island and the winter home to many Bald Eagles, you know what the eagles ate... every see a cat fly?

On a side note the Island was also home to one of 2 small herds of White Tail deer very rare out west and protected, we have Black Tail in the west part of the state and Mule Deer in the east part. Same for Washinton.

I like cats and all, but OMG!

I found a kitten that I was bottle feeding last fall and right when he got his eyes open, my weenie dog walked by and snapped his little neck.

My dogs are little but they kill cats. That many would scare them, though!

Reminds me of my Grannie. She had about 10 cats, all long haired and grey and all named Lulu.

Cats can be pretty fertile little things. Then there were a lot of drop offs too. Too many town folks thought letting their house cat run the streets was ok. Seems like none of them had heard of fixing them. Then they get all upset cause they have a bunch of little ones. They all come cryin' to Mom 'cuz they know she has a soft heart. Seemed like one day there were only a couple and the next there was 50. Didn't have any problem with them being messy or smelling. Oh yeah - Dad made the mistake of saying he thought yellow cats were pretty. Next thing he knew he had 4 little kids bringing home every yellow cat they could find 'cuz they thought it would make him happy. :D It was surprizing how many babies born were yellow too. Dystemper hit one year and thinned 'em out good.

I've been practicing and can kick one about 30yds now. But still they land on their feet. Oh well just more practice I reckon

Looks like someone needs a good corn cobb an a bottle of turpentine, that will build a fire under their tails.

I forgot about that old trick. That Cat will run til' he's out of gas. I've heard a couple more but I wont reveal them. :shock:One involves a paint brush with mineral spirits.

Anyone that would deliberately or intentionally abuse or mistreat any animal is a sick puppy!

totally agree msscamp, over here the RSPCA would come down on you like a ton of bricks with a hefty fine, when caught, it could also include a prison sentance, and animal welfare ticket taken away, there is a minimum of 3 years upto a life ban on keeping any animals if inprisonment is involved.

Animal abuse is now a felony here, but I'm not sure if that's nationwide or only some states. I think it's nationwide, but could be wrong on that. Of course, the hard part is proving it.

There are several ways to rid ones self of an over abundance of cats. Two of them are:
1. Bury them in the ground with their head sticking out and get out the old 1 wood and go for the green.
2. Bury them up to their necks and get out the old push mower.

Ms. Chrisy, Pardon my Buddy Ctlbaron. He gets a little carried away at times. You see, as an infant he was abandoned at a dairy, and was raised by Cats.He heavily resents cats now because he grew up and had to get a job, and could not lay around and be lazy, jump up on the kitchen counter, breed any female that walked in the barn,or go Doo Doo in a nice little box full of kitty litter.Have patience with him. Someday, with a new battery of Meds, he'll realize that without those pussy cats, he would not be here today.
