Do you guys have any experience trying to salvage one that has bloated by slaughtering it. A young six month old calf with chronic bloat trouble the vet got a tube in it but that won't last forever. Can you eat these or does it cause some wierd gas in the blood that makes it not safe or not taste right. Thanks.

When we get a bloater in the feedlot they go to kill, it would be at a discount to a non bloater but not much.

As long as any withholding times for any drugs is past and it isn;t bloated at the time you can eat it. I don;t think I would enjoy eating one that is actaully bloated at the time because it will be stressed and that alone may (the stress) could affect it's taste and maybe tenderness.
