Calves are Growing Up

Well, our main herd is very nearly done calving. I think that there is about 6 or 7 left. The later calving herd, that we took on shares from a friend is just getting rolling, and we've turned our last few out with them.

We moved them home about the 15 of Apr, they were due to start Apr 25. We've got about 8 calved out now, including a heifer that had a set of twins...

Moving them home with our replacement heifers. Tan's are the lease cows, most of the Red's and the Black's are our replacements.

A few days ago we moved the younger bunch of pairs out to pasture. Trailed them about a mile across the neighbour's field. Was pretty happy with them, the ALL actually paired up before we got out the gate!

And we have hills, not much right here where we live, but go a bit south or north or east or west and there are some pretty good hills. We kinda live in a bowl.
