Been watching OKC National all day since we are going to sell there next week. The prices are running about $300 more per head than last year. This is what we got last year.

Sold Feb 24 2014

13 head steers average weight 675 at 178.50 or 1,204.88 a head.
29 head steers average weight 796 at 163.75 or 1,303.45 a head.
12 head steers average weight 992 at 146.00 or 1448.32 a head.
23 head heifers average weight 615 at 178.00 or 1094.70 a head
23 head heifers average weight 696 at 165.25 or 1150.14 a head

there is a set of steers i buy every fall. all factors like weight, delivery window, shots etc. were the same as '13 and in the fall of '14 they brought exactly $100/cwt. at 500lbs. more than they had the year prior. lots of sets were like that but i happened to notice that truckload of steers brought exactly $500/head more than they had the previous year.

That actually seems cheap compared to what I'm seeing them sell for here.

Wow your market is really down or my market is stupid high. I think the later.

Last year I sold and got $185 for a 370 lbs calf and this year I got $295 for a 370 lbs calf or $1091.50.

Those prices are 10-20 $ a cwt. cheaper than out here .

12 head steers average weight 992 at 146.00 or 1448.32 a head . Those should make some money.

Pay attention to the date of the sale they quote happened. That was Feb. 2014 not 2015. A year ago that was a great price.
