Can someone direct me to a link for proper treatment of scours in a bottle fed calf. The calf is almost 4wks old and has had scours in varying degrees since the 3rd day. Thanks in advance.

You should probably get a manure sample to your vet so that he can determine what type of bug is bothering the calf and give you the proper medicine to treat it.

Be sure to keep the calf hydrated with plenty of water and electrolytes until you get the results back from the vet.

> A common scouring problem among midwest dairy calves is "white muscle disease" or the lack of selenium in the diet. As with your calf, dairy calves are bucket or bottle fed. A common symptom of this defiency is a loss of body weight and manure that clumps around the top part of the tail. Check with your vet to see if this symptom is a possibility of your situation.
