I've got a 2 month old calf that I'm halter training to be part of a future ox team. Somehow he managed to damage a horn, just a button, really. The little "cap" broke off and is just hanging.
Obviously, as an ox, he'll need horns, and hopefully ones that aren't disfigured. Has anyone had the experience to say whether the calf's horn development is seriously damaged or destroyed by this injury? I don't want to send him to a new home if he may end up with what is a serious defect for an ox.
Thank you for your help.
