Cash flow problems?? Bank making a big margin call?? Maybe just a good time to cash in and wait a spell. Guess we'll never know, nor care as long as the available cattle are good quality and priced right. Always gotta have a buyer and seller, both with a plan, to make it work.
If cows depreciate in value other than young'uns, any purchase one makes, the purchaser is generally stuck for the time being unless a loss is taken. I think of something that loses value is like a hot potato. The hot potato is getting tossed around. There is no need is losing any money. Let somone else catch the potato. There is no way to short sell live animals other than with futures which may be a good way to hedge if you are agressive and buying in here.
