When we bought our red Brahman bull he dark red like a santa Gertrudis. Now he is a lighter than a limousin cow. What is the deal. Is this a defiecency or is this from the sun or...?[/quote]

Brahmans are known to change colour as they age. Sometimes you might see on a pedigree certificate, listed as grey and the actual animal may be a honey colour. Seldom do you get a very dark animal that gets very light, but it can happen. Don't worry if the bull is good thats all that matters.

We have several cows that fade in the summer time, they'll start out a dark red, and end up almost a (for lack of a better word) palomino color. Also have one old bramer striped cow, that is mainly white with black stripes.....but in the winter she looks like she's more black with a few white stripes.....she fades....
