Can't begin to name even one kingfisher without looking it up. We don't have them in Illinois, at least not around here.

Cardinals are part of the next answer. Their first uniforms were second hand and cardinal red. The birds didn't appear until 1925. The other teams are White Sox, Red Sox and Reds. Original Cincy team name was "Red Legs"

As I understand it the traffic in front of Ebbets field was so hectic that fans literally had to 'dodge" street cars, cars and buggies to get to the park. Or I guess it could refer to a pickpocket, as in Oliver Twist!?
