We are getting ready buy/use a pour-on wormer. Want to protect the dung beatles, but can't remember. Is it important to use Cydectin in the spring only. Can you get away with using Ivomec in the fall? I don't know enough about the life cycle of dung beatles.

Thanks,

Farmgirl

I saw some dung beetles this PM. I would say to play it safe use the Cydectin.

Is it safe to use something else, not Cydectin? Another way of asking the question. Do you kill dung beatles in the fall if you use Ivomec, or Dectomax? I didn't know if the season of the year mattered.

Thanks,

I don't know what parameters cause dung beetles to become dormant but even with the cool nights we've had I have seen the patties still being churned up. Cydectin is the only wormer I know of that is supposedly safe for dung beetles.
