anaplasmosis vaccine

Is the University Products LLC vaccine for anaplasmosis effective on mature cattle? Anyone know if it is available through anyone other than LSU? I lost one cow to anaplasmosis last summer and figure it might be worth it to vaccinate since most of my cows are not native to their current home which apparantly is full of anaplasmosis. TIA

I lost a cow to it about 4 yrs and now I keep the anaplas meal or blocks out and have not had a case of it but if the vaccine works that would be the way to go cause some cows dont eat the meal like others do so they are always at risk

They're evidently the sole supplier, and if it's still available, it's only to a few states that USDA has allowed them to sell it into as an 'experimental' vaccine.

Some companies will manufacture a feed that is medicated heavily enough to treat it.
