He was in Parkland Hospital trauma room when JFK and Texas Gov Connally were brought in--he started up Houston's Life Flight, and hosted a long running TV spot called '"Dr. Red Duke's Health Reports' and each one ended the same way.
From The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, I'm Dr. Red Duke.
No matter where I lived in the world, I recognized that voice and I knew it was from a fellow Texan.

Sorry to hear this. Dr. Red Duke was a great man and a very interesting man. I watched the videos and they carried me back to November 22, 1963. A day that changed our lives. I was a senior in high school and remember it like it was yesterday.
Thanks for this interesting post.

I had never heard of him, but I just watched these videos. He sure seemed like quite the man! Very interesting life, and sad that he is gone.

He probably did more for trauma medicine than anyone else.
To listen to him talk you would think that there is no way I am going to let
that hillbilly in cowboy boots operate on me with a case pocket knife.

Grey beard ,thanks for posting ,this info my wife and I loved him on the TVShow,
Fence man said it all,
But I must repeat what a great Texan, condolences to his family.
