We have hay to rake and bale..............

roke.jpg

But this hay has been "Roke".

(Ebonics: "Roke" is past tense for "Rake")

Getting ready to "Press" the first bale of the year.....

(Ebonics: ""Press" = "Bale".

Looking good. I'm afraid my belts may dry-rot before I get to bale any this year.

I hope we all get a good one soon. I know you guys are hurting as bad as us.

This ryegrass is not very thick and prolly won't turn out half what it should. Only had one little rain since we nitrated.

Same here, although we had a good one last week. You oughta go get the book "The Time It Never Rained" by Elmer Kelton. Great book about a cattle rancher going through a drought. When I first read it it was good fiction. Now I'm thinking of making it a reference book.

My fields are about as tall as yours AFTER you cut it. We still don't have any rain to speak of in the near future. Last year was really bad also. I have a field I want to seed Bahia in but with no rain in the future forecasts I ain't going to bother.

I am glad you got a picture of it Mike. I need to take a picture of the ryegrass I rolled. Without rain it may be all we make this year.
