Age to Freeze Brand

At what age do you like to freeze brand your calves? I've seen it done from 5 weeks old to yearling age. For those that do freeze brand, what age do you normally brand and what size of brand do you use?

Haven't done it yet, but I'm going to target weaning up to yearling. Just bought a set of brands. Genex rep says he doesn't have much luck on mature animals.
