Using sexed, that's actually good total results.Sexed female semen for first 2 services than beef. Our calving interval is 13.1 months. Average 1.9 services per pregnancy. And it short yes we do push for production and there is more heat stress but Holstein's are just not known for being fertile!
When using sexed semen it's hard to tell timing anything to do with sex.

I wasn't thinking. They are doing same around here on the Holsteins. They use beef bulls on low end or poor breeders.
At first, they just kept using sexed on every breeding, but soon realized they had way too many replacements. Well, realized after quite a few years..after the market dropped out from under the replacements. Now, lots of dairy x beef hitting the sales.
