A change of venue this year to western NY at the farm of John Inkley, Angus Hill Farm near Jamestown, NY (hometown of Lucille Ball!) and it was surely a case of 'I love Angus' on a cloudy, cool may day.

44 lots of Angus grossed $197,550 to average $4120. In addition NY Hereford breeders sold 22 lots of Hereford cow/calf pairs and yearling heifers to average $2260 with a gross of $49,625

This was by far the most consistent and solid trade we've seen at this sale in many years, demand was high and there was a total clearance. I think the sale book is still available online if anyone wants to look up individual lots at www.ny-angus.com

What's the phrase? "Believed to be accurate but not guaranteed"

yep, lot 48, we retained a flush on her and the new owner wants us to show her thru this season, calve her out and flush next spring, he's thinking of putting some eggs in too so we may end up flushing twice before breed back. He'll get the heifer calf this fall after show season.

If I would have read your post closer I would have seen you owned lot 48, as my mom used to tell me this getting old isn't for sissies! I pulled up the catalog and see she is a New Day daughter, I sure like the New Days we have had great results both in his bull and heifer calves. What will you flush her to or will that be decided down the road? Really nice looking cow glad you had a good sale. We will be pulling out to the Southeast Angus Classic sale on Friday morning hopefully it will turn out well.

we flushed her last year to our Just Right bull (14593650) and have a really nice heifer calf on the ground from that, my plan is to flush her to him again, his sons and daughters out of New Day's are just flat out good, excellent disposition, a phenotype I really like and perfect udder and teats. Good luck at your sale this week!
