I don't plan on keeping any of these. Stocking a pasture for the summer. I'll let em raise the calves and hopefully the cows breed up to re-sell. These young pairs are 4 and 5 yr olds with fairly new calves. 4 bulls. 1 heifer.
$2875/pr
And terrible pics!

And here's my new Blubaugh sired bull!
How's his tail head @Travlr 😂😂😂
Feet look good. I bought one last year like this and re-sold when I was done and made money. We will hope for the same with this one. He's got 10 cows to breed.
$2200

They look like strong calves.

Ken
They gotta be with mamas like that!
Don't worry, they'll all gain weight on the way home! Won't even recognize em in a week.

I think the spring flush of grass, a bite or two of feed, some wormer, and sunshine and time will make a big difference. They've obviously not had a good mineral program either. Also a far cry from my big red gals I had ain't they?

I like doing these lil projects. With the crazy market, I didn't want to get too carried away. They had 5 very very very nice pairs that's sold for 3800. I'm optimistic but cautious until I see what this market is actually gonna do!

The cows will surprise you with a bit of feed in them.

You rode your bike to the sale? Did you put a fairing on your Sportster, or did you get another bike?

And the Wide Glide...

Cows are worked, hauled and got their heads down grazing now. Making me some money!
That is a nice Ultra! I love that style of Wide Glide. Not much of a Harley man, but WGs are my favorite. What year is it?

It's a 98. 80" Evo engine. I like it. My stepsons 2000 Twin Cam 88" will walk it every dang time tho.
That's ok tho. The Ultra put him in his place. 😆

He does have a pretty nice seat cover for his tho. So he's got me beat there!

We did have to put new rings and have the valves done on his tho. 60k and it burned a rear cylinder exhaust valve.

I added a couple pics above.

These cows are dang sure thin everyone. They got a good dose of wormer. De-stickered and re-tagged. Surprisingly good udders. Decent feet. They have the frame to weigh 1200lbs. As pairs they weighed just over 1000lbs
3 yr old and 4 yr old. Three 5yr olds.

I'll take some more pics in a couple months after they've shed and put on some weight. They'll grow 50-75lbs over the weekend anyway. 😆

Think they've been dry wintered. Poop is hard as a rock. They'll be a real spoiled with me. And I don't feed THAT much.

No new pics of the bull. We are letting him settle down a bit. He's at my friend's place with 5 cows. He went to feed and that bull did not like the feed sack!! He was ready to kill it in my buddies hand. I don't think he's ever seen a feed sack. Or sure didn't act like it. If he continues with that nonsense, he will just go back to the sale. But I bet them cows get him lined out. We will see...

@MurraysMutts , I got one on trade., 2007 I think. Whatever year was the last they made that style. You know they quit for a year, then the next ones they made didn't have the mini apes. I had the 96 ci. Seemed to be a good motor. I like your stepson's too. All I have right now is VTX1800c. It is getting to where its ain't fun to ride around here anymore. Too many idiot cagers on the road. There is a benefit ride about every weekend for a biker someone hit. Three memorial rides since the first of the year for bikers that were killed. One guy was in a group of 8, when some drunk in a pickup came up behind them and plowed through the group. The guy and his wife that was killed...the drunk drove 6 miles with their bike stuck up under his truck. Cops got him stopped before the bikers that didn't get their bikes hit caught him. I think about this every time I get on mine now. I am taking my dream trip off my bucket list . I always wanted to spend a couple of months and ride to the Sturgis Rally, Frontier Days, and the Calgary Stampede. They are about 3 weeks apart. Probably would be safe enough to ride once I got out there, but would be like Russian Roulette getting out of the south.

I've got an ultra like yours and I like it for driving down the road but not in a tight spot. When I bought it the next week my back went out and my right leg was affected and would sometimes just collapse so I never rode it, healed up right now and strting to ride again so I have a 6 year old bike that's only got 400 miles on it. I really like your bonneville, it's a lot handier for riding in town. I have an old Honda 500 4 cylinder that I've had for over 30 years, I had it totally restored, it's like brand new and I like riding it in town, looks like I'll be good to ride that again this year and it's easier to deal with than the harley for just short easy rides

Well. Mr Angry Butthead is at the sale barn. While he has caused me no real trouble yet, I don't like the way he looks at me!!
Or acts for that matter.
Even if I have to eat a 100 or two I'll survive. Better than that switch flipping in his darn fool head and hurting someone. (Me)
I'll let everyone know how much I lose on him I guess. ((Kicking rocks and walking away))

Docility is a deal breaker for us. There were two separate instances locally here last summer. In one they had separated the bull from the cows like they always had. He got the man down, then his wife when she attempted to help and then another lady they had called. Fortunately she brought their hired hand with her. Took several months for the elderly couple to recover. Another man was hurt by a bull and took several months to recover. That is why I don't like video auctions. I want to judge them in the ring. We AI and retain some calves. In 22 we used a sire and culled 5 of 7 on docility. Banded two top bull calves. Like you we cull at the first sign of an issue. The new bull has been by himself. I have schooled on him to stay back and go to the other side of the feed trough. No bull is granted leniency around here.

I picked up 3 bull calves Saturday for a song.
The two 300lb black ones were de-horned, tagged, wormed, banded with my new big bander and given a shot of covexin-8
They were just under 1000
The 400lb bmf bull got the same, cept he's polled. He was bit higher, but a steal at 1300 I think. All weaned 60 days and it shows. They should really take off now!
I should really invest in some implants for my initial workup. I've seen good results in the past, but using the vet is awful expensive for something I can do myself.

The plan is to eat 2 of em next spring. Graze em all til fall this year and sell 2 to offset costs of the ones we are gonna butcher. (I need to get ONE MORE bought)

Straight to work. Someone took a beating by holding these guys 60 days and not de-horning or castrating. Thin and good!

Here's my new mirror and stock trailer. Been saving for quite some time to get a pretty good trailer. 6x16 Gooseneck. 99 model Ponderosa

That top compartment has a gate that flips up and locks. I think I can haul 7 or 8 pair with little babies safely upstairs!!
