When they are new, and healthy, and bright-eyed, and first start getting their feet under them good and try to bounce, and they are as clean and good smelling as they'll ever be, they're all good calves!

My mother was never a farm girl, and I don't think she could ever have been made into one. But in the Spring, she loved driving the country roads in S. Dakota to see all the new little red babies with white faces. She could watch them for hours.
