When you have a GOVERNOR of a state saying that a white cop killed a black man just because he was black and the cop is a racist that is the beginning signs of societal collapse.
Where did you hear him say that?
I sure never heard it.
- (sob)

Minnesota and Upper Midwest (Wisconsin and parts of Iowa) are disgusting white liberal states with socialist populations. They have traditionally had low crime and few problems thus they could afford to be knuckle headed but that seems to be changing everywhere. For some reason they are way more politically correct and blue than the Plains. That was a racist comment on the part of the governor. Minnesota the home of Al Franken, yuck. Love to go up to Northern MN to fish but maybe I will go to Wisconsin or UP this next time. MN doesn't need my money when the governor can make a comment like that.
All I heard him say was "Would this have occurred if the passenger was white? I don't believe so."
I think he was being truthful. I can hardly believe it happened at all.
I think all the racist comments are being added by others. And everyone needs to allow cooler heads to prevail.

I don't see it as being racist. I see it as addressing the event quickly and head on with a question on everyones mind
in a truthful manner. In an effort to prevent further violence that seems to follow in other states by acknowledging
their concerns are being heard and taken seriously.

I would like to believe it couldn't happen to me and so I believe in this case Governor Goofy is actually correct.
I think if it had been me reaching for my wallet during a routine traffic stop the cop would have pulled his gun,
but would not have fired before seeing what was in my hand.
I think in split second decisions a clean cut white guy is given the benefit of doubt over a clean cut black guy
here in Minnesota. I feel very very sad for all of the victims' friends, relatives and co-workers.
I also feel sad for the cop and for what he is going to go through and for all his friends, family and co-workers.

I will have to find the news link and exactly what he said but he pretty much said the cop was racist and this happened because the guy was black.

I don't care if someone is black or white, I have friends of both races. And I don't think most cops discriminate this way either. The few that do are making all cops look bad. All politicians and the media are doing with comments like that are fueling racial hatred that need not exist.

The governor is in the wrong for making that statement. Period. And what's even worse is that I will guarantee you that he couldn't care less. He just wants to keep his job and suck up the Minnesota taxpayers dollars. I wasn't there. I don't know what happened. But my first thought was that the cop panicked. I could be wrong. The only way I see to reunite this country is to disband the entire media force. Play reruns of The Andy Griffith Show and let people relearn what family time is. The media keeps and will continue keeping everything in a constant state of unrest.

Yep my thoughts too about the panicking. And governors of politically correct, leftist little states like Minnesota or California. At least California is diverse ethnically and political correctness there comes from different racial groups advocating for their own interests which is ok for everyone to do except white majority. Then you get the hypocrisy of white liberals in places like Minnesota where essentially the governor is like "ok black people I'm sorry that all white people are bad and racist and I'm sorry that we are all so privileged, I'm apologizing on behalf of all white people". Does any other race apologize and make generalities AGAINST itself? I read a very racist (racist because it generalizes) article by a black professor at Georgetown where white people are all blind to racial injustice that was published by the New York Times. But would that same black professor post an article apologizing on behalf of black people for what "all" blacks purportedly do to white people? No because it's stupid and untrue, just as stupid and untrue as his generalizations of white people, or white people apologizing to black people for themselves. Get over it people, we are all people.

And as to privilege - I'm a rural white male. My family is not connected into Wall Street, legacy at Princeton, Harvard, etc, no gigantic family business to go into, what special privilege do I have? The answer for most people that supposedly have "white privilege" is that most do not. Many are first in generation to go to college, come out of poverty etc, just like everyone else.

I agree Cowboy. I don't want to get this thread locked so I'm gonna try to be careful here. I can't deny that there is a problem with racism. But I personally don't think that it's as big of a problem as most people seem to think it is. I know a lot of blacks and whites. I get along fine with the majority of them and most are welcome to sit at my table and have a meal with my family and I. And most people I know real good feel pretty much the same way. My "personal problem" is more related to age than race. The majority of younger people don't know how to act and conduct themselves. This seems to be more prevalent among blacks but there is a gracious plenty white thugs as well. It seems to be more prevalent among boys over girls. But there are plenty of sorry girls also. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if someone can be respectful and courteous color doesn't mean too much to me. It's about the person. And I don't feel "privileged" either. The only thing I feel privileged about is the fact that I had parents and family that taught me right from wrong, how to work, and how to think. Some never get that chance.

Edited to add: I think that the MAJORITY of racism related problems are caused by the media and leaders of the black "associations" (sharpton, Jesse, NAACP, Black lives Matter, etc). If there isnt constant turmoil then these people have no jobs.

Hey JMJ Farms, how do you like this carpetbagger politician from your own state saying that "Normal white Americans...don't understand being black in America"? These people need to keep their mouth shut:

Well said.

WFAA is the ABC affiliate in Dallas and I've only seen this in lower key publications. Apparently, it made their broadcast, but was not picked up by ABC. Seems looting was not wide spread but it did happened.

Watched the videos as saw not one sign of looting. Nothing but calm and peace . TV cameras everywhere and this is the only place I've heard of this slick.

Good effort but not one sign of looting or violence. Only police and others milling around, conversing and doing nothing else. No broken windows no "loot" anywhere to be seen. One is quoted as saying "he was afraid they would be looted" but nowhere does it say they were looted or did I miss it?? Heck it even says the police had forced the crowd up against the 7-11. Show we looting and I'll apologize but we've got enough half true stories going around already. I'd hate for some of them to lead to more unnecessarily killing.
