    New Bull...What do you think???

Julian, You are right. The pictures were taken last Sunday morning. The cold front had moved through on Saturday night. The temperature according to my thermometer was 34 degrees and the wind was about 10 mph. There was a thin coat of ice on the water troughs. Jack

Okbob, Was looking at the site. I like the bull, we raise Beefmasters and crosses. Was scrolling through the pictures and saw the drawing of the water trough. I like the underground plumbing. Do you use some sort of a float valve to shut off the water supply?? Jack

    New Calves

JiT I like the young paint bull. He looks good. The bull I am considering looks very similar to one of the cows in the photograph. These are some of our angus/beefmaster crosses. Boots is not a paint, but has some colorful markings (stripes) four white feet and white along the bottom line...

    New Calves

JiT, Thanks for the input. Have no clue who you talked to about the black heifers, but I've seen that kind of dollar figure before. We will most likely stay with the red or a variation thereof. Will you be going to Brenham in October?? Jack

    New Calves

CF My wife and I were at the beefmaster auction in Crockett back in April. There were a few black heifers and bulls there, but predominately the cows were red or marbled. Lots of folks were oohing and aahing over the blacks. The prices for the bred black heifers were pretty steep too. :o...

    New Calves

Thanks folks for all the information and comments on the calves. I sort of suspected there must have been something in those cows jeans. I bought five of them last year, three dropped black calves and the two you saw that were red. Last week sent one of the black calves to the sale barn, he...
