I've worked with some kids in group homes, foster care, and sad/bad home environments, and it seems that they do lie to overcompensate more than your average teenager. It's a defense mechanism to try to convince themselves that life isn't as bad as they know it is.

I agree. He definitely has his faults, but he has done a good job with my commercial, cross-bred mix of cows: (Charolais X, Jersey, and Longhorn crosses). I have a friend using him right now on her group of Charolais cross cows.

These are a couple of May calves. Both by a Red Angus bull. The calf on the left is out of a Saler X Longhorn cow; the calf on the right is out of a Charolais X Holstein cow.

I bought my last two bulls as long yearlings and grew them out myself. I was able to get them for just above market value and kept them for a couple years and sold them for enough to replace them. I don't expect to make money on an aged bull.
