He's a survivior.... about 3 months old. Enjoying the last of my summer grasses. The other calf was killed by our donkey. So much for protecting the herd......Was good with the cows until the calf was born this summer. They (donkeys) became mean and nasty after the birth, so they are in an extra pasture until he is sold.

donkey(s) that kill calves become buzzard bait around here. if you plan on keeping them, maybe they will grow out of it. not worth the risk to me. good luck either way!

Up to now we've only had bottle calves, so this is our first calf born here: British White x Holstein cow + British White bull = chunky calf! Pix at birth, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks. He's going to pass up our yearlings (pictured in background) in no time.

Just a couple of my new editions. Both cows are registered Balancers. Calves are sired by my reg red balancer bull.

Well this calf was one of two that were selected as a 4H steer today, and weighed in at 835 lbs. He was born on March 20 making him 210 days. There was another one picked that weighed 770 lbs. Tomorrow we will be weighing onto the trucks, hopefully the average is respectable.
