    Working Dog

Diesel should do alright, he has some big boots to fill he is going to be compared to our other dog Rocky. The red/black are Jersey x Angus & were in our dairy herd until they got too old for milking, than got retired to our farm to raise calves for a few more years yet. The highlands are the...

    Working Dog

We breed mostly Angus, we've started selling a couple of bulls as well lately as they the quality that I would breed with. We've just started playing around with Dexters for milking we've used a Jersey bull over the entire herd this year as I didn't want the hassle of running 2 bulls. The cow...

    Working Dog

Took our new pup Diesel out to meet the cows yesterday at 11 weeks old we've not had time to see if he has what it takes to make a working dog, heres a couple of pics don't think we need to worry. I'm there with him as "back up" should one of the cows/ calves become a little too pushy. He...

    Home reared bull

The most obvious breed would be Angus Rossco is a cross of Lowline Angus(sire) x Angus x Jersey x Friesian (dam). He was bucket raised as his mom had a ship load of milk for just 1 calf so she was in the dairy herd. We have another bull bred pretty much the same way only he is not as well put...

    Home reared bull

Yeah it was a hard decision to sell, a good idea ? possibly not but we'll live with it. I'm sure the complements would stop once his breeding comes out :cowboy:

    Home reared bull

Thanks for the positive replies guys I really liked Rossco but he ended up liking the neighbours cattle more so we sold him on to a farm with 200 head to keep him busy :) We kept some nice heifers out of him though

Some New Cows We're Looking At

Went looking at some mini cattle that were advertised locally the other day, the current owner doesn't know much about them only they are "mini" they brought them through our local cattle sales as they felt sorry for them. From what we were told they have picked up in condition 100% to what they...

    Some of our Replacement Heifers

Chuckie from memory the water troughs are ends off 2 old oil tanks?, we got 2 back in the early 1990's when our road was washed out to floods we cut the ends off & used the body of the tanks to make a bridge the ends as you can see in the pic were than welded on to some old car rims they are...

    Some of our Replacement Heifers

Happy with the way these heifers came through winter nothing special no hand feeding just what they could find by themselves out in the paddocks. We were prepared to start feeding them at the start of September as that is in the "in between" time before the grass starts growing again. Scottish...
