Home reared bull

Help Support CattleToday:

Some of the low input guys preach using only home raised bulls adapted to your system. They usually not cross breeding - - and think there is too much milk and growth in the popular AI lines.
It would be hard to guess what a three way composite bull would throw.

Yeah it was a hard decision to sell, a good idea ? possibly not but we'll live with it. I'm sure the complements would stop once his breeding comes out :cowboy:

So when do you drop the other shoe..........................May

The most obvious breed would be Angus Rossco is a cross of Lowline Angus(sire) x Angus x Jersey x Friesian (dam). He was bucket raised as his mom had a ship load of milk for just 1 calf so she was in the dairy herd. We have another bull bred pretty much the same way only he is not as well put together so time will tell if we keep or cull
Rossco was mid size slightly taller than his sire but smaller than an average Angus
