    Two yearling calving ease bulls

Thanks for the reply. I expected you would be aware of the carrier status. Glad your donor cow tested clean. It's good to see a breeder who cares. Thanks again.

    Two yearling calving ease bulls

Since CA Future Direction was a carrier of curly calf and hydro, do you test your calves?

    Something is Brewing

Barry Flinchbaugh was on the radio a few days ago talking about farm policy, the tariffs, etc. He said 'over the past 5 years, farm income has dropped 50%'.

    Angus bull thoughts.

You didn't confuse me. I knew what Angus Source was.

    Angus bull thoughts.

Branded, would you please explain what Angus Source is? You refer to it quite often. The only Angus Source program I'm familiar with is a feeder calf program that verifies partial Angus genetics to potential buyers through a special tag. It isn't a very popular program.

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

Shouldn't take long to figure it out. He joined Dec 11, 2018 and has almost 670 posts. That's 10 posts per day spread out over 30+ pages and two 'feature' topics he initiated. I've been here a little over a year with less than 300 posts. In that time, no one has come on CT with the bravado and...

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

This topic has done one thing. And Branded said it himself. It's been FREE promotion of his cattle. He's a master at manipulating people for his benefit.

    Purebred Angus bulls without papers

No. It's because the 3rd generation has little or no work ethic. They weren't the ones who put the dream together.

The odd's are against these new kids. The Grandfather builds it, the Father maintains it and the Grandson loses it. Third Generation fact.

God Bless America! SAV America 8018 to be exact.

My mistake. The article was from Australia. In their currency, the bull does have a valuation of $2.1 mil. :hide:

God Bless America! SAV America 8018 to be exact.

Guess I might as well add to this. There are now claims that the bull is valued at $2.1 million. They're figuring in the 20% SAV is retaining? So, whatever--$1.5 million is so yesterday.

    Big Momma Cows

Branded-it seems you go to the extreme when answering a statement or question. No where is it implied that it is right to starve a cow or human. What many of us are trying to say is there is a happy medium. Cows don't require a daily feeding of grain to thrive. They can't survive on air and...

    Big Momma Cows

Dr. Rick Funston, Cattle Reproductive Physiologist at University of Nebraska, has done extensive work on fetal programming. He has proven how a cow's diet affects/influences her calf through it's entire life. If a cow gets 5 pounds of grain every day, the calf she's carrying will require that...

    Big Momma Cows

Branded---were you ever at Hoff's? I was. Somewhere around 2003. There were creep feeders in every pasture. With no cages around them. The cows had unrestricted access just like the calves did.

    Giganta

No. I'm not mistaken. It was a mixture of ground milo (sorghum),corn and distillers grain.

    Giganta

The problem I've had with over conditioned bulls is them losing weight and not ever able to get them back in acceptable condition. This was my experience from a local seedstock producer where I had bought 8-10 bulls over the course of several years. When I found this guy was feeding 40lbs of...

    Big Momma Cows

"Tell me why people are trying to cross to Gelbvieh, Charolais, you name it, to get bigger animals? I think you just don’t like Angus. If the demand for Wye was what it once was, they would still be topping the sales. They were great in their time, but time has moved on. Size does matter." You...

    Char Influence

Early this year I bought a pot load of bred older Angus cows. I calved them out and mid-summer sent them to town. I kept the calves. They were mostly chars. The bulls that sired these calves came from a local breeder who lives for the show ring. These char calves will sure cure any itch I might...
