I have a heffer I AI'd 62 days ago and I have not seen any real visible signs of heat but I am not that experienced that I would know for sure unless it was real obvious... without a vet checking how can I tell if she took or not? any suggestions are welcome... Thanks :cboy:

ok so say you have a young one that gets bred accidentaly... what type of feed is best to keep body condition on them, High protein? and if so what form...cubes? or ?????

Dosent it depend on size to? I have a lil heffer that was 13 months when we ai'd her but she weighed 880# vet said because she weighed over 750 to 800 pounds she would be fine to breed.... :cboy:

I was wrong on the 1.85, that was the calf I had listed above her in my computer... this one is 1.97adg,(average daily gain) she is 793 now, minus 75 pounds birth weight, divided by 365 days old 793 - 75 =718 pound gain since birth divided by 365 days = 1.967 average daily gain... so now I...

I forgot to mention that I have the black tub out there all the time too... they love that stuff...lol My heffer I had AI'd this weekend has a adg of 1.85 so I know she is getting the protien she needs wether it be from the hay and grass or combination of that and the tubs.. I was mostly worried...

vet called today she should be in heat and get ai'd tommorow, I gave her the first shot and waited ten days and took her in to him... he gave the last shot and is watching her... I studi4ed enough about AI'ing to know to drop her at the vets for it... lol for $45.00 how can i go wrong...

thats the scale I used... I didnt have a tape measure that was cloth or flexible so i tied a string to a metal washer and tossed it under her then reached under and got it around her just behind the shoulders... pulled it up to where it was snug and tied a knott there to mark the lenth then...
