i vote for simbrah or brangus myself. i've had experiance with both breeds and love them.

in all honesty... i walked my calves for about 15 min a day and thats just so they knew how to set up. i leave my cattle out all night up for the day. but they were tied every day for at least 30 minutes.

about 15. normaly we take about 2-3 calves with us.

i am looking for a maine cross or a shorthorn heifer. something that has structural soundness and will be able to calve well and win at shows.

normally if i can feel them trying to put ther head down i knee them in the chin hard. normally they might run back a few steps just stay with them. but what jeanne works too.

we used to tie a plastic milk jug onto their tails and they'd kick at it until they realized it won't help. or wack them with a pvc pipe.

all 3 are very nice. your heat wave i'd like to see a touch deeper with all that length. but other than that you've got some hard to beat calves

i did this one last year it was a hit. get 2 of the paper rolls out of some wraping paper and tie one on top of the calf and one on the bottom. dress up as a little boy or girl and you've got a caroselle pony and a little kid. draw on feckels with eyeliner and put on a little dress or overalls...

nice calves. i'd like to see the steer with a little bit more neck extension but they both look good. good luck with them!

is she getting enough hay and grass? that should settle her some. but showbloom works great too.
