I am looking into the possibility of buying a calf catcher that can go on the front of a skid steer or tractor with the skid steer hookup. Has anyone had one? What did you like or dislike? I'm a little nervous about running over a calf if I use it on a tractor. Any thoughts would be great, thanks.

I looked at the 3 point model last year. Dealer kind of scared me off saying he had a guy that put one on a 1086 and he was picking up his frontend with a 5x6 in the unit. Had to run some off before going anywhere. Decided I didn't want a 3 point when I was told that.

How much horsepower do you think you need to run the hustler model unroller? I would assume that it is quite a bit less than the normal bale processor, as they are driven by hydraulics. My thinking is the biggest issue would be traction to pull the unit with the 2 bales?

Instead of a grinder what about on unroller like silver has? I believe you can get them with an extension for feeding in bunks and they claim they are easier on the pto and require less hp.

Just found a case 4210 for sale in my area. Seems like a pretty decent deal, 4wd, loader, cab, and 3500 hours for $26500. I know there was a post on here before about them, and the poster was not terribly impressed with it. I guess I'm wondering if anyone has anymore experience with them good...

Anyone have any experience with them? Found some reviews saying they were a good tractors. There price makes them an interesting option when compared to the more known brands.

Would a wagon like this work to load with a spear? Definitely wouldn't get the second level, but 8 bales at once.

Thanks for the responses, I knew someone on here would be able to help me with this. I have traditionally caught them free hand the day they are born or the next. However as I said in my original post this year might be a little rough to chase and grab a calf with the injured acl.

They do make adapter plates to convert from euro to skidsteer style. If I remember right $300-500.
