    Romangola Cross Cattle

I bought about 10 Romangola steers about 2 years ago at around 600#. I feed all my beef steers a TMR and the Romangola didnt grow as fast as my red angus steers did but did ok. I always keep records on feeder cattle and they gained around 2.6 lbs/day as where the red angus were around 3.1...

    corn fed

Feeding beef calves all corn diet at a young age could make them finish at lighter weights and be shorter depending on the breed of course. I feed my red angus beef feeder cattle about half hay and half corn until they hit 800 pounds area, then all the corn they can eat with little roughage...

    corn fed

Mine at that weight usually eat around 10-12 pounds of corn a day. So around 2.5% of body weight.

    corn fed

I feed my Holsteins all the corn they can eat and has always worked good for me. They will eat it better if you give them a corn stalk bale or a few pounds of dry hay a day with it. As for the protein percent. I mix 300 pounds of Grower(37% protein) with 4700 pounds of corn. I beleive its around...

    Creep feeding

We feed ours half oats and half corn in the creep feeder, I shoulda been more specific. Never had a problem with surplus grass or heifers getting too fleshy. I know some dont believe in creep feeding but we always have. Especially now that corn prices suck.

    feeding holstein steers

I buy feed out about 100 holstein steers a year. I usually buy them at 500#. When I buy them I feed them 1.5% body weight in corn, .75# grower which is 37% protein, and all the alfalfa hay they can eat. When they get to about 700# I feed them 2 lbs/day alfalfa hay, 1# Finisher(40% protein) and...

Angus Hereford cross cow to simangus bull

It is used quite a bit around my area. The calves seem to grow like weeds and are muscley. Yet if you're gonna keep them as replacement heifers I couldn't tell you what kind of cows they would make. Farms around here just feed the calves out.

    Skunk tale calves

Not around here they're not. Sometimes go 10-20 cents less per pound depending on weight of course. Neighbor had skunk tail calves few years ago and sold some steers at 700 pounds, the solid black sold for 15 cents more than the skunks. But anyway we will see what happens with these calves...
