Repainting the cattle trailer probably white cause thats what it has always been. I prefer white and was looking at Home Depots Farm and Equipment paint by Rustomeulm but I dont think it comes in white. Thought I would ask for opinions and experiences with other paint brands and types.

    Lame horse

update We had been using DMSO twice a day with a wrap and it helped swelling and walking a little but helped heat a lot for a few hours at a time within 10 minutes after application. Got her to vet yesterday. Vet said it was a staff infection in the knee. Gave her a shot of antibiotics and...

    Lame horse

Not sure how she did this. No broken skin but right front leg swollen from above knee down to hoof. No trauma to hoof either. First noticed her limp last Wednesday (the 5th). Leg was only a little swolen then when I checked it and felt heat but no bones out of place that I could tell...

    Need advice on electric fence

The electric wire that works best for me is 15ga 2 point barbwire. Cattle hair is an insulator unless its wet and will require a stronger charger to push thru it. 2 point reaches thru the hair to the skin. I use a few miles of it to keep them off hay pastures from Feb till hay is put up.

    Ford 2810 Loader problem

87 model Ford 2810 with 7410 loader. 3 Point still works fine. Have already replaced filter and checked fluid level. Loader lift has gotten slower each time I use it for past 5 times or so and now has almost stopped lifting and rolling in. It still drops and rolls out/dumps. When I replaced...

Head and one leg out calf stuck but dead

The calf was large and had been dead long enough to swell up and prevent pushing it back in. The cow is 4 years old. A calf puller saved the cow. Let her rest for a few hours then got her up and moved her on.

    White 2-105 Tractor Serial Number

I got a White 2-105 tractor awhile back and was trying to find the model year of it. According to the Tractordata data sheet for it at the link below the serial number is supposed to be a 6 digit number but the only numbers I have found on it are these 2 numbers 205-24241293352-406 and...

    Loader bounce on lowering

I recently got a 2-105 White/Oliver tractor with a frontend loader. The loader raises and rolls with no problems. But when lowering it bounces/hammers no matter how slow or fast I try to lower it. It does this with or without a hay roll on the loader It will drop about 6 inches then stop...

    farm or ranch

I talked to a guy at the State Fair AG Expo one year who was from West Texas. He told me he ran a 1500ac Cotton Ranch. And I have a friend in Kentucky that says everything there is called a farm. Around Dallas we have both ranches and farms. So I guess the real difference is that ranches are...

    Hair Loss

Just started having same problem as neighbor with lice. He said they must be biting lice since the injectable he used a couple weeks ago didn't seem to help. Planning to try some Ivomec pour on this week end. Comments?

    Scur Heritability

Thanks folks I don't think his phenotype is to great either. He certainly wouldn't win any shows on confirmation. But I gave him some consideration since he came up on really poor pastures with no feed and still did better than his contemporaries. He's 10 months in the pic. I'm interested...

    Scur Heritability

Had previously selected this guy as a future herd sire because he genetically tested in the top 5% for Feed efficency. But as you can see he is scurd (sp). This will drop him, to a catagory 2 but if he sires non-scurd RAs then they can still be cat 1A's. He is out of a registered RA bull and...

to feed or not to feed, that is the question

I copied this old post from a thread on comparing tubs I believe that that if you are feeding protein then what you really want to know is what is the cost per pound of protein you are paying. For poured tubs the dry matter basis is about 75%. I'm not sure what it is for cooked tubs but if we...

    Vertical Integration in Beef industry

The USDA reports Ive seen over the past year continue to talk about the increased vertical integration of the industry. Thought I'd post some links to articles on it for those interested in learning more about it. http://pods.dasnr.okstate.edu/docushare ... 78/unknown...

    Dove Season in Texas

Back when my son was in school, the car line to drop the kids off at school started around 10am if the 1st (opening day) ocurred on a week day. Always thought it was a funny site to see a bunch of youngsters wearing camo jumping out of dads car and running into school. It looked like a midget...

    Boomless Sprayer

I started with a boomless but never liked all the drift problems. Later I got a decent 30ft boom. Didn't like having to replace nozzles after ground contact on hilly terrain, or hitting the fence, or not being able to get into tree areas etc. So now I have both with a switch valve mounted on...

    2 AM Police Stop

A Police STOP at 2 AM An man is stopped by the police around 2 a.m. and is asked where he is going at this time of night. The man replies, "I am on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effects it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late." The officer then asks...

    Fence charger problem

If yours has a battery then it may be a weak battery. If it runs off 120V AC then I it could be a internal part problem. Saw one many years ago where the ceramic insulator on the output had actually gone bad causing low output voltage.
